My new deck

Post by WINTERFRESH on Sat Jan 07, 2012 2:59 pm

So I was going through pokebeach and found this theme deck they released in Japan, the Victini coin toss deck http://pokebeach.com/2011/06/all-bw-battle-theme-deck-victini-card-images-and-translations
Then I realized that I could sub in Victory star victini for the victini they had in. (If you don't know what Victory star victini is it's victini with an ability to reflip a coin toss).

So here it is!

Victini (Victory star) x3
Simisear x3
Cofagrigus x3
Pansear x3
Yamask x3
Blitzle x3
Stunfisk x3

I'll probably add another poke later, and I still need to add trainers and energies, but this is what I have for now.

The problem with theme decks is that they usually never have a real game plan, but rather, just focus on putting a bunch of seemingly useful Pokemon in one deck with maybe a couple of decent trainers being thrown in while the rest are bleh.

This might be okay if you have absolutely no resources, but this deck isn't going to be doing much if anything to the current metagame.

What some people are doing is making VVV decks, which stands for Victini, Vileplume, Vanilluxe. Vanilluxe can usually pull off a paralyze with its attack if it has FlipTini backing it up, while still causing a moderate 80 damage. Vileplume keeps the opponent (and you as well) from playing non-supporter Trainer cards. This makes it easy to lock your opponent while they sit and watch their 'mons being paralyzed and being able to do nothing because of no Switch. I think they might be able to retreat, but that requires energy that most decks can't afford.
