Team Building (Ubers and all)

Post by Korasi on Sun Oct 24, 2010 1:39 pm

This is a guide to help you build teams (duh!). Alright. Lets start.

First, you should begin with a Lead. Anti-Lead, Attacking Lead, Lead-Lead, BP Lead. You name it. You base your team around what your Lead can do. Example.
If you are using a Belly Drum Baton Passer (BP) Smeargle, you do not want to be using a Special Attacker like, say, Alakazam. A good Lead for Alakazam would be something like Celebi. It has access to Baton Pass and Nasty Plot. But now, you have a weakness to Bugs... better take care of that.

Nasty Plot Lead Celebi: Leftovers: Nasty Plot, Recover, Psychic, Baton Pass

Special Sweeper Alakazam: Life Orb: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, (open slot)

Now, you need Walls. I would recommend a compound Wall (a Wall that functions as both a Physical AND a Special Wall) like Cresselia. Blissey stalls often, and games turn into two-hour rants. I use a Blissey, but only because of superior switch-in-ability. If you want separate Walls, try to cover weaknesses. Celebi is weak against Fire, which means that a Vaporeon Wish-Defender would be a good match as a Physical Wall. Blissey fits in almost every team.

Nasty Plot Lead Celebi: Leftovers: Nasty Plot, Recover, Psychic, Baton Pass

Special Sweeper Alakazam: Life Orb: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, (open slot)

Wish Defender Vaporeon: Leftovers: Surf, Wish, Acid Armor, Baton Pass (for the lols)

Special Wall Blissey: Leftovers: Seismic Toss, Flamethrower( to hit Ghosts)/ Toxic(depends on preference), Aromatherapy

Nooooow. We need a Physical Sweeper. Scizor fills this slot usually. But this team is running near empty with Fire resistance. So let's take a twist. We're taking a trip into NU. Use a Rapidash. Flash Fire will absolutely KILL Fire-Types. You get an Attack Boost for Fire-Type moves. What could be better? Use the Standard Pony set. Works the best.

Nasty Plot Lead Celebi: Leftovers: Nasty Plot, Recover, Psychic, Baton Pass

Special Sweeper Alakazam: Life Orb: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, (open slot)

Wish Defender Vaporeon: Leftovers: Surf, Wish, Acid Armor, Baton Pass (for the lols)

Special Wall Blissey: Leftovers: Seismic Toss, Flamethrower( to hit Ghosts)/ Toxic(depends on preference), Aromatherapy

Standard Pony Rapidash: Wide Lens: Flare Blitz, Megahorn, Hypnosis, Morning Sun(You need recovery. You will be doing a lot of damage)

The last slot is completely optional. You can put in what you think you need now. If you need a late-game sweeper, do that. May I recommend an Entei. Only because of its ability to use Sunny Day, thus giving Rapidash 2/3 recovery with Morning Sun.

Nasty Plot Lead Celebi: Leftovers: Nasty Plot, Recover, Psychic, Baton Pass

Special Sweeper Alakazam: Life Orb: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, (open slot)

Wish Defender Vaporeon: Leftovers: Surf, Wish, Acid Armor, Baton Pass (for the lols)

Special Wall Blissey: Leftovers: Seismic Toss, Flamethrower( to hit Ghosts)/ Toxic(depends on preference), Aromatherapy

Standard Pony Rapidash: Wide Lens: Flare Blitz, Megahorn, Hypnosis, Morning Sun(You need recovery. You will be doing a lot of damage)

SolarBeam Entei: Life Orb: Solarbeam, Sunnt Day, Calm Mind, Flamethrower/Fire Blast (depends on preference of reliability vs. power)

And there you go! You have a pretty decent-booty team! Now all you need to do is come up with your own. Anyone has permission to use this. I just made this up as I was typing here; no one has rights to it. IT'S A[N] AARON (STARRK) ORIGINAL.

This was never rated. That makes me sad. Someone should rate it. Of course, it's 4th Gen, but still... I still think that it's pretty kick-ass... Also, where it says "decent-booty team", it was supposed to say decent-ass, but it got censored. F*ck you, censorship.
